Expect an ode to anko (sweet red bean paste), walk-drawing itineraries where your feet are the paintbrush, and the ever-essential Field Guide To Japanese Toilets.

You know that feeling of Travelers' Time? When the day feels so rich with new experiences and enriching encounters that you can hardly believe you've gotten naked with strangers and eaten raw eggs and taken the wrong bus and been moved to tears by the 95-year-old woman selling dried squid at the market…and it's not even lunchtime? I’ve always wondered if I could bottle that feeling. Let’s find out, shall we?

About Julia Morrison:

Julia is a writer, filmmaker, photographer, instructor, and life-long learner.

She believes in travel as a mindset, a curious and empathetic mode of being in the world, present and engaged and listening.

Julia has never owned a car. Her favorite ritual is her morning cup of tea. Her latest hobby is painting with watercolor.

Together with her husband, James, she is cooking her way around the world. So far they have whipped up a ‘national’ or representative dish from 73 countries and counting!

Julia studied Japanese and East Asian Studies at Wesleyan University. She has lived for extended periods in Japan and Prague, and has been paying rent in New York City for more than 20 years. These places are very different. These places are all home.

More about Julia’s award-winning film-related work can be found here: www.paperchainproductions.com.

Arrive with intention. Embrace redirection. Tune in, step forward, and cultivate connection, one little offbeat adventure at a time.
